1. Never underestimate the power of breakfast.
“Begin the day with wholesome breakfast in bed,” he tells me. “Foods like fruit, yogurt and Quaker Oats will give you the healthy fuel you need to get you going.”
2. Don’t rely on the stores to do all the work.
“Anyone can buy strawberries, chocolate and whip cream – that’s so 80s,” he says. “Cook him or her dinner.”
3. Consider your significant other’s desires.
“For once, do something your partner wants to do,” he says. “Does she like window shopping? Does she like to go for a long walk on the beach? Does he like back rubs? Make his or her dream come true today!”

4. Cook together.
“Make risotto and drink red wine together. Have the lady stir and the gentleman can help.”
5. It’s all about the woman.
“Valentine’s Day is about her. Let her be right today — and everyday!”
Hm, what are his tips for singles on this day of love?
“Stay at home,” he says. “Cook for yourself, drink wine and rent a movie — but not a sappy one. Or have your girlfriends over for girl’s night in.”
